The Cinema Foundation, the nonprofit organising the event, estimates that 30,000 screens in 3,000 locations will participate in the one-day celebration. AMC Theatres, Regal Movies and B&B Theatres, three well-known movie theatre chains, have also declared their involvement in the event and are providing reduced popcorn.
Most theaters across the country are offering tickets for only $4. The movie lineup includes summer blockbusters like “Barbie,” “Oppenheimer,” “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One,” and “Blue Beetle,” as well as new releases like “Gran Turismo,” “Golda,” “The Hill,” “Retribution,” and “Bottoms” that are premiering this weekend.
