A Nice Romcom which is actually funny!

This spirited and audacious comedy delves into the differing perspectives on sexuality across generations, while also seemingly presenting the very topic it examines. “No Hard Feelings” effectively achieves this feat due to the adventurous spirit of its cast, who are unafraid to explore new territories, and its willingness to take narrative risks.

Maddie typically sustains herself by bartending and driving for Uber during the summer, but her plans are thwarted when her car is unexpectedly taken away. In her pursuit to cover the property taxes on her mother’s house, she stumbles upon an intriguing advertisement. A local couple (portrayed by Benanti and Broderick), in anticipation of their son’s departure for college, offers their old Buick to any woman willing to ‘date’ him long enough to help him overcome his social hesitations and blossom.

Jennifer Lawrence is fantastic; she is more than capable of covering all the necessary bases for the part and even manages to make the more intense emotional scenes, which could otherwise feel out of character, work. Also excellent is Andrew Barth Feldman, whose clumsiness never loses its lovable or humorous quality.
